An early PS2 RPG released in PAL territories sometime in 2001, and then in Australia in 2002 I think. While I never saw what all the fuss was about, I still ended up purchasing the game early on when it came out. A few years later, I managed to find another copy for $8 and ended up buying that. I now have 2 copies; one with original manuals and other bits of crap, and another with a few scratches and no manual.
From a personal opinion, the game was flawed in too many ways to be enjoyable. Going back and forth through dungeons to level up weapons, constantly repairing weapons, weak storyline and unmemorable characters. yet the game still managed to gather it's own fan base and drive up the price of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
Now here's a rare one. Metal gear solid 3 : Subsistence.
Metal gear solid 3 is one of the best PS2 games of all time, and my personal favourite of all time.
This is one of the most rarest of all PS2 games (PAL version, Not sure about the NTSC version) Copies of this game can go for ridiculous amounts.
Copies listed here are used unless noted.

Rare PS2 pal games
Now that the PS2 is finally coming to the end of it's lifespan, the cost of games are starting to go up and are getting harder to find. This blog was made to catalogue interesting, rare and good PS2 games. Helps me to keep an eye on prices when I am making a purchase. These prices will be from ebay.com.au
Certain PSX game prices have gone through the roof, and makes me mad when I think back to some of the opportunities that I missed to make a killing. For example:
Suikoden 2 - Found it along with Vandal Hearts 2 for $25 each before prices shot through the roof. Price now: $200+. I ended up getting Vandal Hearts 2 instead. (Missed out big time: One of the rarest PSX games of all time)
Final Fantasy 7 - Found several of them for around $15. Nowadays, prices range from $40-50.
Silent Hill - Bought it for $4. These days they sell for around $30-50. FYI, the one I bought still has all the original bits and pieces, and the CD is in very good condition
And one of my personal favourites (In terms of obscurity)
Street Fighter: The movie - the Game - $14.95 second hand from ebgames. PAL version.
So as you can see, one day some PS2 games might hit the jackpot and be worth a mint.
